In 1997, Missy Ridgway started Perseverance Dance Company with an inaugural company consisting of three students and she has been building and developing her own masterful system of dance training ever since. She has devoted her passion and creativity to her students and choreographic vision since PDC’s inception. Missy is an internationally recognized teacher and choreographer, constantly in demand for her expertise and creativity. She is highly respected for her ability to inspire and motivate others and for her imaginative choreography that continues to raise the bar year after year. She travels all over the world lending her considerable teaching and performance talents to various choreographers, companies and dance studios.
Her students have gone on to perform with Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys of Dance, Sonya Tayeh, MTV’s Video Music Awards, the motion picture FAME and Cirque du Soleil. They have appeared on Dancing With The Stars, performed as guest artists for the Macy’s Stars performance and toured with Ricky Martin. Many have gone on to teach and inspire students of their own. Most recently two of Missy’s students were top twelve finalists on So You Think You Can Dance, and the top nationally ranked college dance teams in the country.
